LAST CHANCE FOR SURVEYS!

Hey all, thanks up front to those people who have completed their survey! Looks like about 82% of people are good to go. It does NOT take long to fill it out! Think of it less like a survey and more like checking out of any online store. I am extending the deadline through this weekend for surveys, I will lock orders and charge cards at 10PM MST tomorrow. Please complete your survey, I really want you to receive your copy of the book, and I can only send it to you if you complete the survey.
If you have questions, issues, concerns, you name it, PLEASE contact me this weekend and I can help you resolve it. Reminder: non-retailer backers in Germany need to contact me for correct shipping rates!
Thanks everyone! My layout designer is hard at work setting everything up, I've seen half the book and it looks great and I am very excited to be rounding the bend, as it were.

SURVEY UPDATE (and FAQ)

Hello, sorry for so many emails, but this is the most important step to getting the book into your hands, so I want to be as helpful as possible!
•The surveys should have reached everyone! If you didn't get one, please check your spam, updates, promotions folders etc. If you backed the project late directly through Backerkit you won't get a survey; you already answered the survey questions when you pledged late.
•The deadline for surveys is June 10th. They should only take about 30 seconds to complete. Cards will be charged after the survey deadline closes, on June 11th.
•The books won't ship until at earliest mid-July, so when you enter an address please keep that in mind if you have a move in your future! If you aren't sure what your address will be please let me know and I can set your book aside and get that info when it's time to ship.
•The digital pledge reward PDF will be fulfilled once the book layout is complete. This will be a link to a page where you can download the PDF. This will be announced in a future update.
•Some folks have asked about other options to get the book in the future. I spoke at length with a rep from a huge printing house in Canada yesterday and it sounds like things are getting worse not better in the printing industry with the supply shortages. My plan was always to offer the physical book on a print-on-demand basis after the Kickstarter concluded and that is still the plan. So hopefully it will be an option later this year.
•Some folks have asked if there will be a DUSTER reprint offered when FEALTY (formerly LIEGE) launches. That's a bridge I'll cross down the road when I see what the publishing/shipping landscape looks like.
•A solution to these high overseas shipping costs would be to have proper distribution, and hopefully by the time FEALTY launches I'll have some inroads to distribution so the shipping won't be such a karate kick to the neck.
•There will be a DUSTER discord server! It will be a place for rules questions, player feedback, character art, looking for game requests, and I'll be patrolling it to help folks out. You will receive an invite to that when the PDF is fulfilled!

The surveys are out there! Good news and bad news:
Bad news: Shipping to everywhere in Europe is higher than I estimated, in some cases almost double. I am sorry about that, I have spent a ton of time looking for options and the prices are just bad. If this is a deal-breaker for you please let me know and I can figure out how to cancel your pledge.
Good news: Shipping to Australia A) became available again and B) fell to a somewhat reasonable rate.
If you are a backer in Germany and are NOT at the retailer pledge level you should pay $42 shipping. If you are charged a different amount please let me know and I can correct.
If you don't see your survey by tomorrow please let me know!

I sent the smoke test for the surveys so some of you may already have them. Provided there are no issues there, everyone else can expect their survey by tomorrow (June 2nd). If you do NOT get your survey, please let me know! If you have questions or issues with your survey, please reach out! I am asking for all surveys completed by JUNE 10th please!

Hello all, hope you had a great holiday weekend (if you had a holiday this weekend).
The book is in the layout phase, and once that's complete, it will go to the printer AND you'll get your PDF of the game! Some folks have asked about the new timeline and here's what that looks like:
-Layout: Unsure how many days, since we could go back and forth on some design choices. However once that's done the order goes in and:
-Proof production: 8 Days. The printer says it will take 8 days to produce a proof and send it to me. I went with a printer that provides a proof because blind ordering 600+ books seems a little insane to me. Once I get the proof copy and approve it:
-Production: 18 days. It will take them 18 days to produce the book. Not sure if that includes shipping. Once the book is printed, they will ship all 1000 lbs of them to me and:
-Shipping: Once I receive the books they will begin to ship pretty much immediately. I will ship them out in batches each day, as many and as quickly as I can.
So that's how these next steps will play out. I know the book is way past the estimated release date and I appreciate your patience! Hopefully the end product justifies the delays.
Your Backerkit surveys are imminent! Just waiting on approval from Backerkit to start sending them out! You can pay shipping, clarify what name you would like to be credited as in the book (if applicable) and add your name to the book if you'd like. I removed the add-on option to add more physical copies of the book simply because two printers have already balked at producing a run of 600 books, and I am not gonna add books to the order and potentially delay this project any further. So if you wanted to add more physical copies of the book (or upgrade a digital pledge) I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait and get one from the next run. Apparently there is a real materials shortage in the book-making biz and it is driving costs through the roof and delaying everything. Never thought I'd see the day it was hard to make books. I still have a printer that appears good to go with my order so we should be safe.
Digital-only backers: If you only backed the game at a digital level and don't want to add your name (and your name isn't in the book), you don't have to worry about surveys because I will fulfill the PDF through an update right here.
As for your other goodies:
-Soundtrack: The soundtrack will be available after the PDF is released. I don't have a set date yet. I've heard some of the stuff and it's cool and atmospheric. This will also be fulfilled via link in a future update.
-THE LOST AGE: This will be a PDF that will be released hopefully very soon around the DUSTER PDF. That will be fulfilled through an update here.
-FEALTY Preview: The preview of the sequel to DUSTER, FEALTY will be the last reward fulfilled, and will come out probably around when the books ship. You'll have to learn how to play DUSTER to play it anyway, so no rush on that one.
Speaking of FEALTY, I have to share this cover art, I am so hyped on it. It's by Elliot Lang (ellistrator on IG). I don't know if this will be the actual cover for the game down the road, but it is the cover for the preview game! Thanks again everyone!
